Make A Stand

The only way change can happen is if people stand together for the change. The voices of the black people who fall victim to police brutality need to be heard. The voice of gays, transgenders, transsexual, and drag queens need to be accepted. The voices of women who demand control over their own lives without having to look over their shoulders need to be heard. Although this country is improving there are still ways to go to ensure freedom and equality for all minority groups regardless of race, gender, or sexuality. Those who are coming to make a better life for themselves in America or are already citizens of the country need to be accepted.

Is freedom a real construct or is it something that has been falsely fed?
Although we have come a long way from what used to be our history, we have not come far enough. Black people are still being shot, killed, beaten, racially profiled and looked at as less than human just as they were three centuries ago. The only difference between then and now are the laws that fail to protect people of color. Homosexuals, transgenders, transsexuals, and drag queens have not completely been accepted by society. They are being beaten and bullied out of not only society but their own families as well. Women are still told to "act like a lady", "know their place", and are still walking in the shadow of manhood. Freedom has been something that has been made to sound good, but has yet to be truly achieved. We are only "free" to an extent.
How does this project relate to Human Experience?
It relates to the Human Experience because it involves the existence of all humans in their mental, emotional, and spiritual being. These experiences that so many minority groups  are exposed to alters their existence as a human because they have society telling them that they are less than that. Society makes it seem as if the experience of being black in America, homosexual or trans or drag in America, and being a woman in America is not human.
